Thought I’d better get this up before all this is old news too. We have another game to go to this evening after we go in and help the Stones, Mike and Michelle, with some yard work stuff that is starting to make Chelle feel all defeated like. I know how that feels. So before we go do that I thought I’d do a little bit of ketchup.
Last week Kai, oldest son of Eric and Stephie, played his first baseball game. He’s only eight and is in coach pitch?. I haven’t the foggiest idea what the whole system is all about, I never did baseball, either as a kid (sixth grade, short stint, home run queen but not that into it to continue) nor as an adult, I’m the economy model mom, remember?
Steph and Eric are great, Eric works loads of hours and still helps with the team.
And Step, she is amazing, gardener, cook, home-keeper, momma and teacher to two active boys, and fits in the time to do this thing that, whew-doggy, is a daily juggle, baseball.
Beings that I am not a baseball aficionado nor do I intend to become one just for the sake of fittin’ in, I’ll just let the pictures speak for themselves and leave the commentary up to you professionals.
But one thing I do know about is silly.
And girls that get carried away. I am a professional at that.
At the game, on the sidelines with Aksel, Anna and Danielle got way more fun out of a little boy’s hacky sack than the two little boys did, or were allowed to by the ball hogs.
Danielle is a sweet girl who has been so gracious as to come and be with us as a live-in farm hand. We couldn’t offer her much in the way of pay, but she was willing to throw some sweat-investment into our budding adventure here. Hope it pays off for her. Dirt and I appreciate her work and her families willingness to give up a worker from their place. She is here not just to help us get this venture movin’ she is also here that we can freely go, which isn’t so stinkin’ free as she fits so well with us that to go someplace without her feels like leavin’ one of my own kids behind.
As usual there is lots going on around here, I hope that God has you busy too Dear Reader and stayin’ outa trouble. Hopefully you’re not as bad as I. Even when I’m busy I still find myself in big fat ugly trouble, can’t imagine how messy my life would be if I had time on my hands or talked too much.
oh how fun to go to their games! i loved that when we were in podunk. now i get to see them play basketball on cruise ships! ha ha they are both good athletes and play football, baseball, and basketball. and they grow up so danged fast!

If I were any good at all working on a farm – I’d asked to be taken in also – looks like a good job. Fun picture and best part is – the kids looked as if they might be having fun playing baseball (how I cannot imagine – seems very boring – only times I enjoyed a baseball game was the $1 beer night and we won’t talk any more about it). Good to see y’all out and about – not just diggin’ in the dirt!
Great pictures, Lanny! My favorite is that smiling little boy with the Ireland shirt on. What a cutie patootie!
I,m not much into sports but these kids certainly are! My granddaughter plays soccer and she’s just totally hands and feet into it….and looks much like the kids in your photos only different sport, LOL… and yes, we go and cheer……….
Hi Lanny, I love baseball and I used to be the local pitcher..how wonderful to get to watch a game.. I was a bit of a Tomboy! Nice to see some photos of your grandsons..that one could just melt a Grandma’s heart! So you got some new help..I hope things are going well for you, and I hope you are feeling better.
These pics remind me of the early days with John when he umpired little league baseball. The kids have the most fun! I want to come live with you and your family too!!! I hope all is going well.
Hi, Lanny! The boys are cute! So glad you got a great helper as well! blessings,Kathleen
This was really cute and really fun to read. Go Kai!!!!!
