I can’t believe how horrifically tired I am and I am sporting swollen glands. Mono? Well I doubt it,
The Alderbrook from the waters of the Hood Canal
I think it is more that Dirt had a very rough week in spite of the lovely place he was working in. Because he had a rough week, I did too. After all, we are one and he is the lead in our one-ness.
Intense skies of the Hood Canal
- Historical water wheel on the way to downtown Union and the pub.
We did have a good time in spite of feeling like fish outa water. It got even better when friends arrived. Someone to wander the streets of Union with!
The Hood
Time to introduce Mike and Rebecca to the Hood.
Mike and Rebecca of Suburban Hedgerow and Cody, the bartender at the Robin Hood Pub
We harassed the local bar keep. And caused him to give us the “ten cent tour” of his life, uh, can we just have our beer now?
A new one to add to the list of favorites, ahhh.
A very inviting hide away, not too overly cheesy, just enough.
The Robin Hood's back yard, view from their patio
I can’t believe I got on a boat for dinner.
Alderbrook's dinner boat
The AJAC folks encouraged Dirt to bring our friends along on our boat trip the last night of our stay.
Dinner and cake arrive
On the bow of the Lady A with Lady R
I had to stay on the bow of the Lady Alderbrook. I don’t do the interior of boats when they’re moving.
Wild boiling sky
In fact, I like it best when boats go fast and the water is choppy crazy, so I didn’t mind the rough seas. The sky was a crazed cloud extravaganza, a great show.
The Captain
All in all it was a great ride, the whole week really, but I am very thankful to be home, very. So now can I say I’ve been on a cruise, they even served cake?
I can’t believe how excited we, the Vicktory Farm & Gardens gang, can get over a pile of manure.
Heavenly poo
I was cruisin’ Craig’s List again and I found some folks who wanted to deliver horse manure to whomever might desire it. We desire it.
Happy Grand PooPa Day Dirt!
So we got it. Love it. Jim, the man with the manure spotted our horses and asked why we needed more of the back side product.
I explained our Vicktory Farm & Garden Manure and Nutrient Creed. Always put at the very least double what you take off. In this constant rainy weather lets just say that double isn’t near enough. The rain leaches a lot, we eat a lot, the sheep eat a lot, the horses eat a lot, the slugs eat a lot. Speaking of which, to wind up my I can’t believe it post…
I can’t believe the incredible gain the slugs are all of a sudden making on the ducks. Dirt has banned the ducks to their pasture. Thankfully they are not to previous years’ levels but they could get there soon I am sure.
Lanny's famous hanging slug
They are definitely in the hot house where the ducks cannot go, eating my watermelon starts from below the surface of the soil. Dirty rats. I mean, slimy slugs.
Not sure what’s up with the lettering and aligning of this post, Dear Reader, but I think I have the majority of the mixed up stuff re-edited. Though it doesn’t look all that great I am going to stop.
Have a good start of your week. We’ll be moving manure. And loving the rain. Okay, that was a bald faced lie, but we’ll tolerate it, if we don’t drown first.
Beautiful pictures Lanny. Glad M & R could join you and Dirt. Looks like a delightful place. Sorry you are feeling under the weather. Wishing you a good week.
wow all that and a cruise too! good for you honey! and when they say “she shoveled s***” you can say “yes i did”!!! ha ha ha glad you are home safe and sound. enjoy your week!
smiles, bee

Hi Lanny, Hope you get some rest after all that wild cavorting around last week..back to the poo pile for you. Cruises and cakes and pubs.. you were living on the wild side. I hope you feel better soon..or at least rest up. We are a bit rainy here too..and the slugs are having a hay day eating the Hostas at all the neighbors..none of those slugs will be as memorable as your famous slug. I finally got my spaghetti squash planted..it shouldn’t freeze anymore..the tomatoes need sunshine to grow. I could use some of your poo. You are entirely correct Lanny, you have to put in double what you take from the earth, if every commercial farmer did that what a wonderful world we would have:)
Lanny: Looks like you had a fun time along with all the work getting done. Your manure pile is much bigger then my garden.
I’m glad you had a good trip, but also glad you’re back home again. I hope you and Dirt get rested up and feel better soon. Oh those nasty slugs! That slug picture gives me the willies! HA! Hope you have a good week, Lanny.
