Retro Part One

Posted by on March 16, 2011

Somethin’s up with the camera.  And the computer is on its death bed.  I keep hearing Cheyne-Stokes respirations and thinking that any moment it will be giving up the ghost, but it comes back for another day of torture, its as well as mine.

All that to say, I am lagging behind with my post due to technical difficulties as you can see in the header photo.  Argh.

So there it is and the story to go with my retro fabrics will come at a later time, maybe tonight, maybe tomorrow.

For now, know that I am still alive and haven’t fallen into complete despair over things in the news, or in my own little life, all is well, no matter the apparent situation.  And go see what the others (links on sideboard) have for “Retro” this week.

Me?  I’m getting up from said dying computer and making Swedish meatballs, gravy and the last of our garden taters boiled for dinner for those that are living.  Why?, why Swedish meatballs today?  Well go see Far_Side.  Swedish meatballs were the closest I can conjure for Finn food, Dirt can bring home pickled herring and then we’ll be set for a feast.

That’s a decent amount of fabric, cant wait for the story. As for the meatballs yum yum, its bed time over here so we’ve already had dinner, but, you’ve made me hungry all over again.

Lanny: Love to see what you do with that old fabric, let me know when you do part 2.

DW loved all that material, she is cutting all her pieces out for a wall hanger and some for a competition on the net.
    So colourful too.
Supper time here, but your dinner sounds tasty.
Look forward to more to come.

    Shoot the puter.

What a lot of fabric. Are you going to start making clothes to sell or new ones for your scarecrows?

As a vegetarian, I wouldn’t eat meat balls, Swedish or otherwise, unless they were made from soya protein.

regarding the meatballs, the jewish women here make some that are outstanding! it is so simple too, frozen meatballs are okay, one can of tomato sauce and one can of jellied cranberry sauce. simmer until hot and a bit thick. delicious even if it sounds insane!

Lanny, I’ll look forward to the story about your fabrics. Sorry to hear you are having computer woes. Hope you enjoy the Finn food. Swedish meatballs sound really good right now.

Hi Lanny, Not your computer..say it isn’t so.
I love all your retro fabric..they really knew how to make prints back then..
I hope the meatballs were great..oh and I love Herring too!
I was gone almost all day on St Urhos Day..I had to settle for Salad and a Grilled Cheese in the hospital cafeteria..not even a dry crusty piece of flatbread was in sight. I do have some Finnish Mojakkaa in the freezer ( vegetable soup) I will just celebrate by myself one of these days! :)

It does sound like a feast-well I’ve never had the herring so I don’t know about that-think I’d like it : ) I hope all the computer problems work theirselves out.
